Integrate Therapy & Consulting
A modern, sleek rebuild for Amanda's West Perth practice, moved off WordPress onto a faster, lighter platform that costs less to run every month.
The challenge
Amanda’s previous website ran on WordPress. Like a lot of practice sites built that way, it carried ongoing monthly costs just to stay online, and needed regular updates to keep it secure. She wanted a site that looked as modern and considered as the care she provides, and that was simpler and cheaper to keep running.
The content had plenty to cover. Alongside individual therapy there is adolescent and family work, support groups, Holotropic Breathwork® workshops, psychedelic integration therapy, and Mental Health First Aid and suicide prevention training for workplaces. The new site needed to explain all of it clearly, feel calm from the first screen, and keep the path to an enquiry short no matter where a visitor landed.
Approach
I moved the site off WordPress entirely and rebuilt it from scratch on a modern, lightweight platform. With no WordPress core, themes or plugins to keep patched, there is far less to go wrong, pages load faster, and Amanda’s monthly running costs are lower than they were. Plugin-heavy WordPress builds are one of the most common reasons practice sites feel slow, which is why page speed was a priority from day one.
The design leads with reassurance. The homepage opens with a plain-English promise, a photo of Amanda’s consulting room, and a short strip answering the questions people hesitate over: no referral needed, Medicare rebates, in-person or telehealth, and after-hours and Saturday availability. A warm serif headline paired with a quiet sans-serif body gives the whole site a clean, editorial feel that reads as considered rather than clinical.
The About page tells Amanda’s story, from teaching and school leadership into counselling and psychotherapy, along with her qualifications and the areas she works in. Each service has its own page so it can be found and understood on its own terms, and psychedelic-assisted therapy is framed precisely as integration and harm reduction, with a clear note that no medicines are provided. An Approaches page explains CBT, DBT, EFT and EMDR without jargon, and an Events page keeps upcoming training and workshops visible with dates, venues and registration details.
Fees are published upfront with the Medicare and private health position spelled out, because cost is one of the biggest reasons people delay booking. Crisis line numbers sit in the footer of every page.
Result
A modern, sleek website that matches the quality of Amanda’s work, and costs her less every month to run. It is fast and mobile-first, there is nothing to patch or babysit, and visitors can see what is offered, what it costs and how to start within a few seconds, with a simple enquiry form one click from every page.
Under the hood, MedicalBusiness and FAQPage structured data help Google and AI search engines understand what the practice offers, where, and how.
